The Intel i7-2600K is still in use in systems in 2018, having proven its worth in ~2010 as an exceptionally versatile processor. It’s aging, so we’re revisiting the i7-2600K in order to re-evaluate its position when compared to modern CPUs from both Intel and AMD. When determining whether it’s worth upgrading, it helps to know numbers from modern AMD R7 2700 CPUs, i7-8700K/i9-9900K CPUs, and others. We also overclocked the 2600K to 4.7GHz, providing insight to its modern scaling when pushed.
